More arrives for your family

Your money should arrive at home – not disappear in hidden costs. This is what you get with Wise:

  • See what arrives

Before you pay, Wise shows how many rupees, taka, pesos or lira your family gets. No guessing, no surprise.

  • Real mid-market rate

Wise uses the mid-market rate – the one you see on Google. The fee is shown separately, not hidden in the rate.

  • On your phone, any time

Send in the evening or on a Sunday. No queue at a counter. Everything in one app.

  • First transfer without Wise fees

With our referral link – up to a limit that Wise sets. Wise shows the details when you sign up.

In the EU, Wise works through Wise Europe SA, supervised by the National Bank of Belgium.

Pakistan, India, Bangladesh, Türkiye, the Philippines and many more. The app shows the options for each country.

Watch the rate, not only the fee

Many banks and cash services add a markup to the exchange rate. The fee looks small, but less money arrives. Wise uses the mid-market rate and shows its fee separately. With every provider, check the total amount that arrives.

Do more with your Wise account

One account for your money in many currencies

Wise is more than sending money. Your account can do this too:

  • Get paid like a local

Get your own account details for several currencies, for example EUR, GBP and USD. People can pay you with a normal local transfer.

  • A debit card for every day

Pay in shops and online – in Austria and when you visit home. The card uses the money in your Wise account.

  • Hold and convert currencies

Keep money in many currencies. Convert when you need it. The app always shows the rate first.

Good to know

4 tips for sending money safely

  • Compare what arrives

Don't only compare the fee. Compare the amount that lands in your family's account.

  • Watch the exchange rate

Some services hide extra costs in the exchange rate. Always ask: how much arrives exactly?

  • Keep your receipts

Save the confirmation of every transfer. It helps if there are questions later.

  • Never send money to strangers

Do not send money to people you have never met. Not for a job offer, an online love, a prize or a call from the “police” or “tax office”. These are typical scams. Wise will never ask you to send money to a stranger.

Frequently asked questions

Is the first transfer really free?

Wise says: people who join through an invite link get their first transfer without a Wise fee – up to an amount set by Wise and within 6 months after sign-up. Wise shows the details when you sign up. Fees from your own bank (for example for paying in) are not included.

What is the mid-market rate?

It is the rate exactly between the buy and sell price of a currency – the rate you see on Google. Wise uses this rate and shows its fee separately.

Which documents do I need?

Usually a valid ID card or passport. Sometimes also proof of your address in Austria. Wise tells you in the app which documents it needs.

How long does a transfer take?

It depends on the country, the currency, the amount and how you pay. Wise shows an expected arrival time before you send.

Can my family get the money in a mobile wallet or as cash?

The Wise app shows which ways to receive exist for each country before you send. We don't promise this, because it can change.
